Subject: Notification of Potential COVID-19 Exposure

Chapman Faculty and Staff-

To comply with California State Bill AB-685, Chapman University has been informing members of the campus community of potential exposure to COVID-19 on a daily basis. This is separate from the work done by our Contact Tracing team who notifies you of more imminent exposure where you are likely required to get COVID-19 testing and self-isolate. The spirit of AB-685, is to notify individuals who have been in a facility at the same time as someone who tested positive so people can monitor themselves for symptoms and get tested if have concerns.

To improve on this process, beginning next week, we will be adding a link in the Daily Symptom Survey email to the CU Safely Back dashboard. The dashboard page shows you the current vaccination rates at Chapman and current COVID-19 case counts and will now include a list of each facility on campus that has had protentional exposure.

If you have questions about this process or have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Chapman University’s COVID-19 Internal Contact Tracing team at contacttracingteam@chapman.edu.
