Chapman Moves to “Medium” COVID-19 Community Level
Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in our region, the CDC and the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) now list Orange County as a “Medium” community level. Effective immediately, Chapman University faculty, staff and students must follow the COVID-19 protocols outlined on the CU Safely Back website that correlate to the “Medium” level.
Please reference the website for the full list of protocols. The primary changes are:
- Masks are now strongly recommended while indoors, but not required.
- Unvaccinated individuals (those who have submitted a declination or who are not current with all boosters they are currently eligible for) must receive a negative COVID-19 test once per week to maintain access to campus facilities. Testing is now located in the Student Health Center.
- The Student Health Center is located at 402 N. Glassell. The center is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and no appointment is necessary
- CDC booster eligibility information is available on their website, but individuals should check with their doctor for guidance.
- Faculty, staff and students must show evidence of their Daily Health Screening to access campus, also available at http://www.chapman.edu/amiclear.
- Public Safety representatives will be stationed at main entrances on campus to screen for the “ALL CLEAR” message received from the Daily Health Screen.
The COVID-19 Task Force will continue to monitor the local conditions and update you if needed. As we head into Memorial Day weekend, please be safe as COVID-19 spreads throughout the country. If you will be returning to campus on Tuesday, I ask that you be prepared to follow the re-established protocols to slow the spread within our community.
