Community Engagement Team

As Chapman University prepares to resume on-campus instruction in the fall, it is important for its campuses in Orange and Irvine to communicate with local city officials, leading businesses, neighbors and other related representatives about its “CU Safely Back” Plan. This effort will ensure that the University’s plans are closely aligned with these cities but are clearly articulated to clarify key differences that Chapman is adopting to ensure the health and welfare of its campus communities. This community engagement effort will seek to remind and/or develop understanding among these cities to the value that the university brings to the area and to encourage stronger collaboration, partnership and support. More broadly, Chapman will initiate outreach to the county as a whole, working with leadership groups, chambers of commerce and other elected officials to establish an ongoing dialogue about the strengths of the university, job growth and ways that it can help revitalize the region. Working through the Communications Task Force, the Community Engagement Team will develop a consistent and regular flow of communications with each city, as well as the county, that is appropriate for the various stakeholders.
