Information for Incoming Students

This page was updated on

On Monday, August 17, Chapman leadership held a town hall with incoming students and families. In case you missed it, here is a recap and video.

We are committed to doing everything we can to protect the health and well-being of our students, faculty and staff. Below are links to specific areas about preparing for your first semester at the university this fall:

Be sure you are following the first year or transfer checklist for successfully starting in the fall. Checklists are available on our New Students website.

For the fall semester, Chapman will be housing students in private bedrooms with private bathrooms. Because of this drastic reduction in occupancy, we ask that those with active housing applications submit this housing form to indicate your need for housing in Fall 2020. If you no longer require Chapman housing, you can also cancel your application within this same form. Please read the form carefully and submit it before 8:00 a.m. PDT on Wednesday August 5 to be considered for housing this fall. For additional updates on housing for incoming first-year and transfer students:

Fall Orientation

Orientation will take place the week before classes begin. We are currently planning a fully virtual experience. In-person opportunities may be available as well. We will email information to incoming students and families as plans are finalized. You can also visit our Orientation website for more details.

Advising and Registration

Please visit the Academic Advising Center’s New Students page for information and resources on advising and registering for classes. You can also visit their FAQs page for answers to common questions.
