Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) Online Services Will Continue Throughout Fall

This post was updated on

The Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) will be providing all our tutoring services online throughout the fall semester in adherence to physical distancing guidelines.

The TLC started online tutoring in Spring with a small group of tutors and Supplemental Instruction Leaders when Chapman University learning went remote, and have continued to offer online services for Summer sessions courses. While students had expressed concern that online tutoring may not be the same as in-person tutoring, it has in fact proven to be extremely beneficial.

This Fall, the center will be offering the same four types of tutoring services to meet students’ individual needs. All tutoring services are free to Chapman students:

  1. Content Tutoring will provide students with one-on-one and small group assistance focusing on course content material.
  2. The TLC Academic Mentors provide students with study skills and learning strategies, along with support and guidance throughout the semester.
  3. The TLC Supplemental Instruction Leaders will be attending course lectures and meeting with course professors before conducting study sessions with the students to review and apply the course materials.
  4. The Writing Center will be providing students assistance on all writing assignments.
