Update on COVID-19 Guidelines for Workplaces as California Eases Restrictions

This post was updated on

Today, coronavirus-related capacity restrictions and physical distancing requirements were lifted at almost all businesses and other institutions in California. State residents who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 can now go without face masks in most nonwork situations.

As we prepare to bring the remaining staff back to work on campus in July, and ready the campus for fully in-person instruction in the fall, we are working closely with our local and state health care agencies to better understand the guidelines for employee work settings. You may be following the updates regarding Cal/OSHA and their proposal allowing vaccinated workers to stop wearing masks.

While the details of the guidelines are finalized, we will continue with the CU Safely Back guidelines that asks all to wear masks indoors while working. We will update you as we learn more.

I want to remind you of the HR Forum tomorrow to address the new flexible work policies going into effect for all staff and administrators on Wednesday, June 16 at 9:00 am.
