Update to Rinker Planning, July 22, 2020

This post was updated on

While we move forward with our CU Safely Back planning for the institution as a whole, Rinker leadership, faculty and staff have been working on advanced planning for the graduate health professions that begin their fall trimester on Monday, August 31, 2020.

As provided by Cal Dept of Health’s Guidelines to allow higher education to continue to educate the essential healthcare workforce and supported by OC Health Care Agency, the Rinker Health Science campus will continue to offer essential lab-based courses and other activities requiring hands-on engagement including some in-person exams, to physician assistant, physical therapy, communication science and disorders, and pharmacy students on campus fall 2020.  Rinker graduate students will continue taking lecture-based classes online with clinical rotations off campus for Fall 2020.

If the guidance expected from the Governor’s office indicates the criteria for when we can return, Rinker campus could also pivot to in-person instruction for lecture courses if we are able. As this situation progresses, the academic deans from both the School of Pharmacy and the Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences will keep you informed as additional details become available, or if changes are necessary.
